Best Beaches in Dubai

Dubai is known for being the perfect holiday destination with the beaches being the number one attraction. The city boasts a beautiful coastline with white sand, turquoise waters and calm waves. Swimming in the sea is ideal in the months of April, May, October and November. December to March are the cooler months of the year which is when the sea temperature is also colder. However, there aren’t many days of the year where I wouldn’t go to the beach!

Hotels on the coast and beach clubs have their own beaches too! I’ve been to pretty much every beach here so I’ve made a list below. Enjoy!

JBR Beach

JBR beach is the main beach for the Marina residents, with many shops, restaurants and street entertainment. There’s a new path linking the beach to Bluewaters Island, which is home to Ain (Eye) Dubai. You can ride camels up and down the beach with the dramatic backdrop of the Marina high-rises.

La Mer

My favourite beach is La Mer - just a few minutes away from Downtown. There are two beaches - North and South, joined together by the Laguna Waterpark. It’s where contemporary art and design meets luxury and sandy toes. There are plenty of unique restaurants, fast-food favourites and shisha cafes on the beach.

Kite Beach

A vast stretch of sand and one of the most popular beaches in Dubai. The perfect place to relax at the weekend either riding the waves on your body-board, running along the 7km track or having lunch at the famous Salt restaurant.

Burj Al Arab Public Beach

Located in between the famous 7-star Burj Al Arab and Kite Beach. This beach is a hotspot for the surfers of Dubai, with the Surf House located just off the beach. I often paddleboard from this beach to the Burj Al Arab which is an amazing experience. You can hire kayaks, surfboards and paddleboards from the Surf House.

Al Sufouh Beach

Also known as Secret Beach and Black Palace Beach. This is the beach that I go to the most as it’s right across from where I live. A big bonus is that it’s a drive-on beach so you don’t have to pay for parking! However there are no restaurants or facilities, so bring a picnic! It’s situated in between the royal palaces, plus you get a full view of the Palm Jumeirah, Marina and Burj Al Arab.

The Pointe

Opened in 2019, the Pointe is located at the tip of Palm Jumeirah. There is only a small beach here, however, it’s surrounded by many shops and cafes. Plus there is an uninterrupted view of Atlantis. It’s the perfect weekend spot!
