DISCOVER THE MIDDLE EAST

The Middle East is my second home - I never thought in a million years I would say that! The region is made up of 18 countries, including Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. It is one of the least visited regions in the world, due to the decades of war and political instability. However, there are many safe and incredible places to discover. In 2019, Saudi Arabia opened their borders to tourists and revealed its hidden gems. My bucket list suddenly got a little bit longer…

The United Arab Emirates is home to Abu Dhabi and Dubai which are now two of the safest cities in the world. They offer luxury, charm and the 5-star lifestyle - which admittedly, is something we all crave now and again. In Jordan, you can discover the Dead Sea, which is the lowest point on earth. Plus you can go completely off the grid in the Jordanian desert, living amongst the stars and Bedouins. I’ve had so many unforgettable experiences in The Middle East - and I’ve only just scratched the surface!

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL

The perfect time to visit The Middle East is between October and April. Comfortable temperatures during the day with very little rain, however, the nights can get chilly - especially if you’re staying in the desert. The months of July and August are stifling hot, with temperatures reaching 45 degrees in some countries. With the added humidity, it can feel over 50!

The Middle East is predominantly a Muslim region, so be aware that you may be travelling during the holy month of Ramadan.

TOP TIPS

The Middle Easterners have conservative mannerisms and attire. Make sure you pack accordingly and check the rules and regulations of the country you’re visiting before travelling. Some regions are stricter than others but it’s best to be prepared.

The main language in The Middle East is Arabic, however, you will find English speakers at the hotels and tourist attractions. English is also the most used language in The United Arab Emirates.
