50 Photos to Inspire You to Visit Al Ula
My husband and I were sitting in the otherworldly Our Habitas pool, discussing our top five favourite places we’d ever been. Less than 24 hours in, and we both agreed—this Arabian gem was already at the top of our lists. With the likes of Mount Kilimanjaro, Monument Valley, Four Seasons Seychelles, and Iceland, one thing ties them all together: untouched natural beauty. And AlUla is no exception. It’s as if Monument Valley had a Middle Eastern twin.
Rugged mountains, luminous orange sand, and stars so big you could almost touch them. Not to mention the deafening silence—24/7. This breathtaking region of Saudi Arabia has existed for thousands of years, dating back to the Nabataean era, yet it’s only been opened to the world in the last few years. Thank you, Saudi, for sharing your beauty with us.
Only a handful of five-star hotels have opened so far, including Banyan Tree and Our Habitas. We stayed at the Caravans by Habitas, within the same conservation area, and it was out of this world. Hiring a car gave us the freedom to explore the Old Town and nearby attractions at our own pace. Some of our highlights? Elephant Rock, Maraya, Hegra, and the Harrat Viewpoint.
I hope you save this post for your trip to AlUla. If you’re looking for serenity, natural beauty, and pure peace—this is the place for you. Enjoy!
